Artist statement

Throughout my year in this photography class I have been successful with a lot of things for instant; I think I was very successful when we made alien, social issue, personal quilts, the senior portfolio show invitations, and graduation invitations. Because them right there is what I put my hardest efforts on and tried too do my best to make it look good and that’s what I did.

The struggles I had been trying too get ideal so I can get to create a master piece. But when I got my ideals in my head, I got to work on my great work. I struggled because I had too get my ideals first because without no ideal what u going to do. I could improve on putting more thought into my work and they too get a different look, like see how it would look in a different way

Blowout and Panning

The iso was on 5000 and shutter speed was on half a second. i think it was the best way because it came out good i could have lowered the iso to create another blowout
the panning is pose to make the object clear and the background blurry. I was almost there i didnt get a good picture. I could of have keep tryin to get a better picture it make it difficute because i had to follow the object.

Aperture

The amount of light that travels though the size of the hole. the if stop in the first photo would be small because the smaller the f-stop would be high because the larger the f-stop the smaller the hole.

Flash
iso fights against darkness and allows you to see the light. Flash has hight quaility and iso has low quaility. the lower the iso the better your picture will turn out. when its really bright you should use iso. the shutter speed because that is what you are in charge of.

flash

The pros of useing flash is that flash creates light and freezes time, elminates blur. The cons are flash may distrup your subject and creates UGLY lighting. A good time too use flash is when the subject is too dark and the background is too light. flash is not good to use when u want to see the colors. the picture i choose is good too use because its alot of good colors that stand out.

Mettering

mettering measures the amount of light that needs to be taken in.In the first photo, the light meter is focusing on the computers light and in the second photo, its focusing on the persons light. it can help me in the future; if i need more light somewhere and i want it to be emphasis then i focus on that first.

Will on the desert we had to do multiple layers to get the desert to look right . Then we pulled the desert closer to make it look like it never stop it keeps goin. think we got a little active with it and added a light pole and added a shadow to make it look real.then if u look at the sky we got a little active too and multiple layers like clouds a blue sky and etc. this will help me make my surreal by teaching me what they want me too do so i like i got these.

Graduation

The thing about other peoples they were all alike same color but i think grapic design is easier because it just u and whatever they looking for u can jus move stuff around too get a good look. the most important is to iknow your topic and what people in the real world like not what you like .

Artist Statement

In my portfolio you will see a lot of work that I worked on in my favorite class of the day. For example the work that I have done on there are all from Photoshop. We learned a lot of thing such as Rule of thirds, compositional skills. My feelings about my portfolio are that I could have put more effort into it. Even though I still think I did pretty good.

When I first step into the door of this class I thought to myself “Dang this is going to be a piece of cake”ha well guess what it that’s a lot to be successful. I mean it’s not hard at all it takes hard work and u has to pay attention. When we first start taking pictures, other than holding the camera, pressing the flash. After three to four months I learned how to clear skin, Cut myself out of pictures, and use almost all the photo shop tools. I think I was more successful in the most recent pictures such as “Social Issue” I feel like I did a great job I worked hared and tried my best.

The struggles I had in this class is keeping up on some of the projects because there’s a lot of steps and the class be behind other classes so miss cook have to rush to keep us caught up. I can improve in the future well I should be able to keep up now I know all the tools and stuff. I saw improvement in the bigger assignments because I get everything now, less stress.
In conclusion, the experience I gained in photography will always last a lifetime. Then people will be like dang tray why your picture better then mines. I’m just gone tell them hard work and dedication in photography class take it u will be just like me lol.

Personal Words

The lyrics i have chose for this project is DEAR MAMA by TUPAC.When i was young me and my mama had beef seventeen kicked out on the street though back at the time, i never see her face, "ain't no woman alive that can take my mamas place."" my quote is i know it seem hard sometime but remember one thing. through every dark night, theres an bright day after that. so dont matter how hard it gets stick your chest out. keep your head up....... and handle it." I chose these lyrics because i love my mama and we get into it some times but we always stick together and keep or heads up. i know she will always love me and i will always love her,thats how the game go so jus handle it.

Social Issue: "THE HOOD IS NOT THE SAME"

In my social issue, you see me next to a barbeque grill that has a chain on it. Am swatting down looking like is it ever gone change. The title is “THE HOOD IS NOT THE SAME “.The colors is in black and white to make it pop out more and so more emotion. The photo also has a sense because the grill has a chain with a lock on it.

The meaning for this issue is because in my hood it’s not the same. People are scared to come out side and play because people don’t know how to act. The police want even let us walk around after 10 pm, we cant even have a barbeque with out gangs messing stuff up or police stopping us from doing what we want to do. So that’s why I pick this social issue. It effects me because I have to live threw this and I got family that get up and go to school early in the morning.

Scary Effects

My favorite picture is alien . The new tools i learned was the dodge and burn tool it help you make your picture pop out more.. Some difficulties i had was all the steps i just got lost on some of them but i got it after a while... The things i got was the stuff coming out my mouth... This will give you a good job like a artist..

Photographic Effects

I like the glow because i am really good at making things pop out. I would like to work on blowout. making the picture pop out.

The picture i like the best is the black in white picture because it bring out feeling.

The picture i like the best is the light because it just looks tight.I think the picture i will use the most is light,leading lines,framing, and extreme angles because them are all good ways i like my pictures to be like all styles .The photo i have problems with is macro because i don't know, i just don't get it.My favorites are my framing and my lights picture because they so gorgeous.

Well my picture is jus him looking tired and i got this picture in a very good light. The feeling i get is him looking real tired.It make it pop out more.

Frame

Framing help u look in the frame see like my lovely picture i took. The frame in my pictures help because she just sittin there i was lookin for it to look like she was sad. And it helped because she's in something.

Extreme Angles

extreme angles is a good picture to use because its a another way to make your picture look better. To me they are good pictures because i make them look good. Ha Ha BIG LOL... JK

Compositional Trick #1 Rule Of Thirds

Rule of thirds are grid that focuses on the emphasis, And a trick to help u position the emphasis..We use the rule of thirds because it helps u to make a plan picture to a out standing picture.An also it helps u to break the picture in thirds.
